DCX Backbones
 The Brocade
DCX
and
DCX-4S Backbones provide the
backbone foundation for today's datacenters. They manage large
server/storage environments. They consist of 8 Gb/sec Fibre
Channel (FC) ports, deliver unmatched performance,
 designed for future-built extensibility,
and are energy efficient.
The used Brocade
DCX Backbone's ports can operate simultaneously at full 8Gb or
4Gb speed. It contains 3 Tbit/sec chassis bandwidth (6 Tbit/sec
for dual-chassis configuration) and 512 Gbit/sec of aggregate
ICL bandwidth. It has up to 384 8Gb Fibre Channel ports in a
single chassis, up to 768 8Gb Fibre Channel ports in a
dual-chassis configuration, and
256 Gbit/sec bandwidth per slot plus local switching.
The DCX Backbone's Fibre Channel Integrated
Routing produces less than one-half watt per Gbit/sec. The
specialty blades are designed for 10 Gbit/sec connectivity over
dark fiber, FCIP SAN extension, and fabric-based applications.
It uses hot-pluggable components such as redundant power
supplies, fans, WWN cards, blades, and optics. It also comes
with plug-in services for fabric-based data encryption, storage
virtualization, continuous data protection and replication, and
online data migration.
