Based on third-generation Brocade ASIC technology, the used Brocade Silkworm 12000 supports 1 and 2 Gbit/sec Fibre Channel as well as a suite of Brocade Advanced Fabric Services that simplify the design, administration, and management of large SANs.

The 2 Gbit/sec Brocade SilkWorm 12000 Director provides Fibre Channel connectivity for both mainframe and open systems SAN environments with unprecedented levels of availability, scalability, manageability, and security. Possible configurations range from a 32-port director to dual 64-port directors in a single enclosure that provides “pay-as- you-grow”scalability.
